Leaf: Jagged edges, unsymmetrical lines, grows from stems on lower plant
6'' long 3'' wide
Form: Solid, dark green with up to 5 on a single stem. large vase shaped leaflets.
Bark: Rough with deep crevaces running up the length of the tree.
Location: off the right side of Old Farm Road
Economic/Ecological Importance: Large so animals can use it for shelter.
Organism Habitat: Moist soil and in mixed hardwood forests.
Range: Eastern North America.
Toxicity: No toxicity.
Connections: Shelter for small animals and bird nests.
Human Connection: Lumber for humans to use for building.
Flowers & Fruit: The fruit is a flat samara, and it has small, purple brown buds that spread from branches.
